Prayer Requests and Praises

My friends Aimee and Ben Price need God's strength in all aspects of them individually and as a couple.  Ben has cancer which causes extreme discomfort in his legs. Aimee is doing all she can as a wife and mother to her little Zeke (Ezekiel) that much of our support for this family is in much need.  Pray that Ben's radiation treatments work quickly to kill the cancer cells and that chemotherapy doesn't make him lose his appetite. We pray for energy and that God will comfort this family always.

Praise: One of my students walked off the campus recently and I only pray she had a long talk with God about what she was doing. After nearly the whole day on a long hike, she made the decision to come back to campus and try again. She is 18 and could have made the decision to leave the school for good, but she is almost done with high school and leaving without accomplishing that would have taken her a little longer to finish outside of here. I am very proud of her and glad she is back here. I hope to see her off a more decent way than before.

We've been also getting a lot of admits for girls and boys! Praise God! Only He provides!

One of my co-workers and I have been praying on Wednesday nights for the girls and staff.  A couple of weeks ago, we prayed for more staff and girls and these last week, God answered.  We got 3 new girls and 1 new staff for sure and hopefully a couple, so the boys will get new staff too.  Praise God.

It's a new year and I'm going to do take on the Radical Experiment.  I will commit to a one-year experiment of radical living according to the Gospel and to making myself open to the permanent changes that God wants to make in my life as a result of this experiment. Let's Go!

Curious what this is about?  Go to radicalthebook.com.  The book is awesome too and will be worth your while.

Since it's my first day of work at my new job, I think a lot of prayer on understanding how to run things are in order and developing good relationships with staff and girls.

- My roommate's brother and his wife may be in the path of Hurricane Irene.  Her sister-in-law is about 6-7 months pregnant and already has high blood pressure so worrying about the hurricane just adds more stress.  They are a young couple so please pray that her pregnancy will go well.

-I've mentioned my friend Bob and his sister and niece that got into a car accident and ruptured both their pelvises.  Well, here's some praise.  They are now both at home and walking. Praise God for recovery!

- My roommate and I have been trying to put together a service in the park at Riley Creek Campground.  Her schedule has changed a lot more than mine which has made it difficult to schedule when to do it and her schedule gets posted late almost all the time.  Please pray with us that we could have at least one service at Riley Creek Campground soon before everyone starts leaving.

-One of our attender's cousin died so please pray for him and his family.

-People are starting to leave the resort now and we're all asking the same questions like "What are you going to do for the winter?" and "You think you might come back next year?"  With all this talk, you can tell there's a lot of worries.  This is a general/broad prayer request, but please pray for direction for the people here.

-My roommate has been sick for the past couple of days.  She is slowly recovering, but it's just that...slow.  Please pray that she will regain strength soon.

-My friend Bob's sister and niece were in a car accident and both have broken pelvises.  His sister is out of the hospital now having been there for about a week or so, but his niece is still there.  His niece's kids were also in the car and both died.  They had the funeral this last Sunday.  Please pray for his family.

-This same guy has been a blessing in my life for sure.  He reminds me so much of Bob back at home.  He can talk a lot but definitely always says what you need to hear because God uses him that way.  I've had many good conversations with him and even though he shares with me his struggles and pain because of what his family is going through, he is always still encouraging, inviting and smiling.  His love for God is eminent and I thank God for putting him in my life.
